We spend N4,500 On COVID-19 patients' meal per day so they don't start a riot —Bauchi government

According to the Primary Health Care Development Agency of Bauchi State, taking care of the COVID19 patients in the state hasnt been easy or less expensive as the Agency claims to always spend a cumulative amount of ₦4,500 on the feeding of just one COVID-19 patient every day in the state, as a strategy to reduce protest and agitations from these patients.

The confirmed cases of Corona virus in Bauchi State has at the time of this report hit 232; among this figure, about 164 had successfully been discharged, while five people have died and a total of 63 cases are active.

Doctor Rilwanu Mohammed, who is the Executive Chairman of the primary health care Development Agency in bauchi state, made this information open to news men during his speech with the nigerian news Agency today being sunday.

According to him, the executive Governor of the state gave a direct order for them to feed each of the patients with ₦1500 for a single meal and same should go for other meal hours for three square meals everyday.

This amounts to a total of ₦4500 per meal day.

What do you think about this cost of feeding, Are there actually mass cooking practises that could be adopted to cut costs?
